LIMERICK, Maine — Authorities say a Maine man has died in a motorcycle crash in Limerick.

The York County Sheriff’s office says 66-year-old Jay Traunig of Cornish was killed when he crashed into a tractor-trailer truck on Route 11 Friday afternoon.

Authorities say it appears he was trying to pass the tractor trailer after it had started to make a left-hand turn when he crashed into the side of the vehicle.

Traunig was not wearing a helmet.
