SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse police are looking for information after a shot apparently shattered a car window, leaving a passenger with a head injury.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. Saturday on Merman Drive in the suburban town of DeWitt. The Syracuse Police Department says a 19-year-old woman was riding in a car when she suddenly felt pain to the top of her head, then realized the car’s rear window was in pieces.

Officers say it appears a bullet shattered the window, but they’re not certain whether the woman’s injury was a graze round from the bullet or a cut from the broken glass. She declined medical treatment.

Police say no one in the car could suggest a possible suspect, so they’re asking anyone who knows something to call 315-442-5222.
