GREAT FALLS, Mont. — A Montana man is charged with deliberate homicide after a fight in Great Falls that left a man brain dead.

Darionn Tyler Douglas was charged Friday with deliberate homicide or an alternative charge of felony negligent homicide.

Douglas initially was charged with felony aggravated assault after police responded to a report of an unconscious man. Court records say the victim, identified by the initials M.L., was considered legally dead on Thursday.

District Judge John Parker set Douglas’ bail at $250,000 during his initial court appearance on the homicide charge Friday.

Prosecutors say Douglas and the victim had been drinking and arguing when they agreed to go outside and fight. Court records say Douglas kicked the victim in the face and knocked him out, then continued to punch, elbow and knee the man in the face.
