James L. Van Blaricum

TAYLORSVILLE

James L. Van Blaricum, 47, of Taylorsville, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at his residence.

Jim served in the United States Army from 1987 until his honorable discharge in 1995. He was an expert high power rifleman and obtained the Indiana state record in 2004. He was also the jumpmaster at Franklin Flying Field for a number of years.

Jim enjoyed playing softball and riding motorcycles in his spare time.

Following his family’s wishes, cremation is planned and there are no services scheduled at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Jim was born December 31, 1969, in Bartholomew County to James and Nancy Hill Van Blaricum.

Survivors include his sons, Tyler Andrew Cooper of Ft. Campbell, KY, James Allen Van Blaricum of Columbus; father, James I. Van Blaricum of Taylorsville; mother, Nancy Ullery of Ft. Myers, FL; grandfather, Robert Hill of Union City, IN; aunt, Kathy Hornaday of Virginia City, NV; and cousin, Tyler J. Kaine of Las Vegas, NV.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur (Dorine) Blair and grandmother, Doris Hill.
