FORDLAND, Mo. — The Webster County sheriff says the deaths of two people near Fordland appear to be a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Margaret Kutz and Nelson Sparks, both 66, were found Saturday evening by Sparks’ son.

The son went to the home after not hearing from his father for about a week.

Sheriff Roye Cole says investigators believe Kutz killed Sparks and then shot herself. He says the shootings apparently occurred about a week before the bodies were discovered.
