BUFFALO, N.Y. — Police in Buffalo say a 9-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on a city street.

Officers say the accident occurred late Sunday afternoon at an intersection on the city’s west side.

Police say the boy suffered serious injuries after being hit by a minivan. He was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital, where he died.

Investigators say the driver stopped after the crash. No charges have been filed.

Police are continuing to investigate.
