Outhouses will take over Nashville streets

The streets of Nashville will overflow with running toilets this Saturday, Sept. 16 at the annual Abe Martin County Picnic and NASHCAR Outhouse Races.

Brown County businesses and social clubs have been prepping their potties for weeks to get ready for the main race at 3 p.m. But before that, visitors are welcome to hop in the outhouses and drive them down Main Street as well.

Activities also include live music, a hog roast, and cornhole and plunger toss competitions. Events start at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies and a parade of outhouses, food service starts at 11:30 and awards will be given at 5 p.m.

The picnic is a benefit for the We Care Gang, a Brown County nonprofit that helps locals with food and shelter-related needs. Many activities are free, but donations are accepted.
