Generous donations for hurricane victims

An effort Saturday at the Clifford Volunteer Fire Department to collect items to assist Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey generated donations of materials and money.

Matt Sebahar of Columbus Pallet donated about 30 pallets to help with the collecting and loading of items, said Larry Fisher, who organized the donation drive.

Other significant contributions included $1,000 from the Moose Lodge and $500 from the Nading family — money used to buy building materials, Fisher said.

The truck full of items collected in Bartholomew County was expected to arrive in Texas on Monday afternoon.
