GOOSE CREEK, S.C. — A South Carolina man charged with murder following a fatal stabbing will face drug charges after a large quantity of narcotics was found during a search of his home.

WCBD-TV reports Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a home early Sunday. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died. Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury identified the victim as 59-year-old Bernard Reid of Goose Creek.

Following an investigation, 31-year-old Joseph McKoy Jr. of Goose Creek was arrested. The execution of a search warrant at McKoy’s home yielded what field tests presume to be various amounts of heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia.

It’s unclear if McKoy has a lawyer.
