CARSON, Calif. — A $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the beating death of an 85-year-old Korean War veteran.

Investigators say Frank Hernandez was walking to buy lottery tickets on the afternoon of May 31 when he was attacked from behind in Carson. Hernandez was struck in the head and robbed of his cash. He died a week later at a hospital.

Sheriff’s officials announced the award Wednesday and released a composite drawing of the suspect.
