Few tickets remain for single ‘Fallen’ movie showing

A special screening of the movie “Fallen” is being shown at YES Cinema, sponsored by Women Behind the Badge of the Columbus Police Department.

The documentary will be shown at 7:01 p.m. Monday at the cinema, 328 Jackson St. The film, narrated by Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actor Michael Chiklis from “The Shield,” won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the Phoenix Film Festival.

“Fallen” is about the police officers who have died in the line of duty, their families and loved ones, said B. Georgina Butler, a member of the Women Behind the Badge group.

“We hope this film will provide Columbus with a glimpse into the sacrifice police officers are willing to make and the impact such a sacrifice would have on the community,” she said.

Monday’s showing is believed to be the only one in Indiana, and YES Cinema waived usual fees for the showing, Butler said. All proceeds will go to the cinema, whose proceeds benefit a range of programming including after-school and job programs for local residents in need of help.

A few tickets remain for the showing, available at the theater or by visiting yescinema.org/movie/fallen.
