WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A series of weekend shootings in a North Carolina city left three people injured.

The Winston-Salem Journal reports the four incidents believed to be unrelated took place in Winston-Salem between Friday evening and early Sunday.

A 14-year-old male teen is in stable condition after he was shot multiple times Friday. Lt. Bart Stone with Winston-Salem police says detectives are investigating gang connections.

Twenty-six-year-old Lourenco Marcus Reed of Lawrenceville, Georgia, remains in critical condition after being shot in the head Saturday. Capt. J. Edwards says police have a person of interest.

Two people were arrested after 21-year-old Daniel Soberanis Sanchez was shot in the lower back following an argument at a nightclub Sunday.

The weekend also saw Winston-Salem’s 18th homicide of 2017, with the fatal stabbing of 34-year-old Shelton McFarland Outten.
