NEW YORK — A pedestrian has been fatally struck by a taxi and two other people have been hurt in an unrelated roll-over on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

The Fire Department of New York says two people were taken to a hospital after the 6:30 a.m. roll-over Wednesday at 76th Street and Madison Avenue. Their conditions were not known.

Police say that around 5 a.m., a taxi fatally struck a pedestrian who stepped out from between parked cars at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue. That driver was being sought.
