EASLEY, S.C. — One man is dead after sheriff’s deputies say he entered a South Carolina home with a gun.

Pickens County Chief Deputy Creed Hashe said in a news release that deputies were called around 9 p.m. Tuesday to a home in Easley.

Deputies found a man who had been shot and he was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died during surgery.

Coroner Kandy Kelley said Wednesday the man was 39-year-old Henry Hugh Thomas.

Hashe said it appears the victim entered the home with a gun and there was a shooting involving at least two people. The deputy said there were at least five adults in the home when the shooting occurred.

No one else was hurt.

No charges have been filed.
