TAYLORSVILLE
Frances J. Schmidt, 90, of Taylorsville, passed away September 11, 2017, at her residence.
Born January 15, 1927, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Eldo and Cora (Brown)Henricks. She married Charles Markley Schmidt in 1957 and he passed away in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Mark Allen Schmidt of Punta Gorda, Florida; a daughter, Marcia Stafford (husband Michael) of Taylorsville; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Johnson, Mark Johnson, Clive Schmidt and Lantze Schmidt; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and a sister, Dorothy Mariner.
Mrs. Schmidthad lived in Taylorsville for 4 years after moving from Columbus. She had worked for many years for Vernco, Arvin Industries, Jay C Food Store in Columbus and Publix Food Store in Fort Myers, Florida. She graduated from Waldron High School in 1945 and had attended Taylorsville United Methodist Church.
Frances enjoyed playing euchre and eating at Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant in Columbus. She loved family and friends coming to her house to visit.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, with visitation Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service.Pastor Lonny Goen will officiate and burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
