1) If there’s one thing I like film-wise it’s a coming-of-age movie. Art House in the Red Room, the Bartholomew County Public Library’s film series, continues 6 p.m. Sept. 20 with the 2010 British coming-of-age film “Submarine,” 6 p.m. Wednesday, 536 Fifth St. Information: mybcpl.org.

2) Make a quick hop out of town for the sixth annual BucCornEar Festival, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 23, Jackson Township Fire Department, 4831 Helmsburg Road, four miles west of Nashville. The event features food, games and demonstrations. Admission is free, small donations required for games and food. Information: 812-988-6201.

3) Don’t miss the last Donner Park Variety Show of the season, 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 23, Donner Park shelter house, rain or shine. Free admission. Information: 812-372-6700.
