Leah E. (Osterhout) Wooster, 98, of Columbus, died Friday, September 8, 2017, at Willow Crossing.

Leah was born October 26, 1918, in Hallstead, PA, to Ray H. and Ida I. (VanAuken) Osterhout.

She married James M. Wooster in March of 1940. He preceded her in death in March of 2006.

In recent years she was a faithful member of Parkside Baptist Church. Together, she and James dedicated themselves to a life of ministry. The vast majority of that time was in association with Baptist Mid-Missions, where they served in St. Lucia, Haiti, and locally in helping to establish Trinity Baptist Church of Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Coyle; a brother, Laurance Osterhout; a half brother, Willis Roosa; and a half sister, Jean Cushman.

Surviving are her children, Vicki (John) Moody of Brandon, FL, Guy (Mary Ann) Wooster of Indianapolis, Michal Cierpik of Tallahassee, FL, and Carol (Jesse) Moorman of Blairsville, GA; son-in-law, Chuck Coyle of Columbus; half sister, Joan Jones of Binghamton, NY; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017, at Parkside Baptist Church with Dr. William Bailey officiating. Burial will take place at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Reed Chapel and one hour prior to service time Monday at the church.
