SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — Several flights at the Burlington International Airport were delayed or diverted to other airports after the runway lights went out at the airport.

The snafu Thursday night resulting from a cut wire had been fixed by Friday morning. The outage lasted about four hours but flights were still being impacted Friday morning.

Dan Boisvert, who had been in New York for business, told WCAX-TV that he was supposed to arrive in Burlington on Thursday night, but didn’t reach the city until Friday at 10:30 a.m.

He says the plane couldn’t land because the runway lights didn’t work, so it turned around and went to Newark. He said everyone reacted like, “No. We’re so close!'”
