NEWARK, Vt. — Vermont officials have temporarily taken down an online add posting items bought by a former principal who improperly used school resources.
The Caledonian Record reports (http://bit.ly/2xD727j ) the items were taken down after officials decided the sale should be handled by the Caledonia North Supervisory Union office instead of the Newark Street School principal.
CNSU Superintendent Jen Botzojorns says the school’s new principal should not be responsible for the sale of items bought by the former principal.
Former principal Patrick Ely pleaded guilty in April to using school accounts to buy $5,000 worth of merchandise, including a portable generator and a 32-inch television.
Botzojorns said Thursday the items will be reposted later this month.
Proceeds from the sale will be used for new playground equipment at the school.
