COALINGA, Calif. — Authorities said a driver who pulled to the side of a remote road in Central California reported finding a body among the weeds.

The Fresno Bee reports (http://bit.ly/2xqcFoq) the discovery on Thursday morning triggered a homicide investigation.

The body was taken to the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death.

Fresno County Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the death is classified as suspicious, and may be ruled a homicide depending on results of the autopsy.
