Museum seeking photos of military service members

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites is seeking photo submissions of current and former service members for its annual Heroes from the Heartland display. The project recognizes Indiana’s faces of valor by showcasing the images in a large photo display and Facebook gallery.

Heroes from the Heartland will be on display in one of the museum’s public spaces and on the museum Facebook page Nov. 1 to 11. Veterans also will receive free admission to the museum during that period, which ends with Veterans Day.

Photos must be high-resolution, at least 300 dpi, of a current or former service member. Submission information should include the service member’s name, dates of service, branch of service, Indiana hometown and submitter’s name, and a summary of the service member’s story in a few paragraphs. Submissions are due by Oct. 14 to ISMVeterans@indiana museum.org.

Photos mailed to the Indiana State Museum will be included in the display but will not be returned, so original photos should not be submitted.
