PRINCE GEORGE, Va. — Police in Virginia say four children were hurt, three seriously, when two all-terrain vehicles crashed in a field.

Prince George County Police said in a news release that the crash happened Saturday night on private property. Officers say the children were riding two ATVs when the vehicles collided.

Authorities say all four children were hurt. Three were taken to a trauma center, where police say they are in serious but stable condition.

The crash is under investigation.
