SANTA ANA, Calif. — Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found dead inside her Santa Ana apartment.

The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/2fh5c4h ) that a man called police early Monday morning to report that a woman was possibly injured inside the apartment.

Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says officers saw the woman who was in her later 50s on the floor, so they made entry into the apartment.

Police did not release details about what may have caused the woman’s death, but they detained two men, including the caller, for questioning.

Bertagna says a hazardous materials team responded to the scene to inspect chemicals that looked similar to those found in a drug lab. The team left about two hours later.
