VOLLEYBALL

Columbus Christian wins

CONNERSVILLE — Columbus Christian rolled to its third consecutive win Monday night, a 25-18, 25-19, 25-11 triumph at Community Christian.

Mayah Schundelmeier pounded 12 kills and two blocks, Sabrina Herron recorded 16 assists, Hannah Stair notched 10 digs and Savannah Herron served six aces to lead the Crusaders (12-3).

Sabrina Herron also had five kills and three aces. Savannah Herron added six kills and eight digs.

Panthers sweep Lancers

NORTH VERNON — Edinburgh got closer in each set, but Jennings County held on for a 25-19, 25-20, 26-24 victory.

The Panthers improved to 4-17. The Lancers fell to 7-16.

South Decatur falls

MORRISTOWN — South Decatur dropped a 25-14, 25-15, 25-13 Mid-Hoosier Conference decision at Morristown.

Taylor Best led the Cougars (2-18, 0-6) with two assists and eight digs. Madison Owens pounded four kills, Sam Goodfellow had one block, Kayla Carder recorded eight digs and Zoey Nobbe served three aces.

Lancers, Eagles done

BLOOMINGTON — Edinburgh and Brown County saw their seasons come to an end with fifth- and sixth-place finishes in the Bloomington North Sectional at Cascades.

Martinsville (324), Bloomington South (364) and Indian Creek (388) claimed the three regional-qualifying spots. Bloomington North finished fourth with 390, followed by the Lancers (401) and Eagles (412).

Vanessa McManaway led Edinburgh with a 96. Kenzie Hill and Kierra Richards each shot 98, Morgan Calhoun added a 109 and Maddie Giles had a 117.

Ashley Masteller led Brown County with a 95. Allison Stogsdill added a 101, Meghan Cassiday had a 107, and Lauren Burker and Jessica Taylor each shot 109.

BOYS TENNIS

Waldron downs Eagles

NASHVILLE — Brown County won both doubles matches, but Waldron swept the singles matches to claim a 3-2 victory on the Eagles’ senior night.

Abe Oliver and Chase Watson beat Cameron Wellsand Shawn Cole 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Ian Carter and Dakota Tillison lost to Elijah Roush and Nathaniel Fox 6-2, 7-6 (2) at No. 2 doubles for the Eagles (2-14).

Brown County’s Aaron McCann fell to Cole Adams 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Adien Burt lost to Joel Justice 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Nolan Patterson fell to Parker Huffman 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Tigers topple Lancers

FAIRLAND — Triton Central won three matches in straight sets to post a 3-2 win against Edinburgh.

Ryan Gaston beat Jordan Brandman 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, and Parker Bryant and Bryce Burton downed Blake Anderson and Ryan Shipley 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles for the Lancers (1-9).

Edinburgh’s Coltan Henderson fell to Jeff Miller 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Bladen Hancock lost to Luke Sanders 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Brayden McManaway and Gabe Wilson fell to Reid Monhollen and Logan Buchnan 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.

Austin blanks Trinity

SEYMOUR — Austin pulled out three three-set matches to claim a 5-0 victory at Trinity Lutheran.

Jace Crockett fell to Trevor Johnson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Bailey Baker lost to Joseph Smith 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Matt Stuckwisch fell to Gavin Parker 2-6, 6-2, 8-6 at No. 3 singles for the Cougars (1-11).

Trinity’s Hunter Morgan and Pierce McCammon lost to Cameron McNeely and Chris Thomas 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Avery Schwipps and Noah Voelker fell to Jalen Hines and Caleb Weaver 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

BOYS SOCCER

Stars edge Eagles

NASHVILLE — Class A No. 14 Brown County outshot Bedford North Lawrence 20-10 and put 10 shots on goal to six for the Stars, but Bedford pulled out a 3-2 win.

Landon Cambridge and Logan Fittz scored the goals for the Eagles (9-3-1), while Ben Rygiel and Cambridge had assists. Chris Ratzburg recorded three saves.

Milan tops Trinity

SEYMOUR — Trent Shoemaker, who had played in goal for most of the game, put Trinity Lutheran on the board in the final minute of a 2-1 loss to Austin.

AJ Goecker had the assist for the Cougars (4-6-3), who were outshot 18-12. Shoemaker posted 10 saves, and Jacob Crockett added two saves.
