MINOT, N.D. — A Minot woman will serve nearly a year behind bars for taking part in a robbery and throwing a burning cigarette in the face of a police officer.

Thirty-five-year-old Heather Travnicek pleaded guilty Monday to taking part in the robbery of a man at a hotel in January and to assaulting the officer when she was arrested in February.

The Minot Daily News reports that Judge Stacy Louser sentenced Travnicek to serve 300 days in jail and then three years on supervised probation.
