RUTLAND, Vt. — Lawyers for a Vermont man and state prosecutors have met to discuss a “potential resolution” to charges he fatally shot his longtime girlfriend in their Rutland County home.
The Rutland Herald reports (http://bit.ly/2jEuI4V ) State’s Attorney Rose Kennedy and attorney Peter Langrock, who represents Frank Weir, met with a judge Monday to request more time to reach a resolution.
The 54-year-old Weir has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old Donna Marzilli.
Police were called to the couple’s home in February after receiving a phone call from someone who said his girlfriend was shot during a dispute.
The judge granted Kennedy and Langrock 60 days to reach a resolution.
