DETROIT — Four people have been arrested after shots were fired at Detroit police officers during a traffic stop on the city’s west side.

Police say two officers had pulled over a SUV about 8:15 p.m. Friday after the driver disobeyed a yield sign. A passenger got out of the rear seat and shot at them before trying to run away.

No officers were wounded and police did not return fire. They later arrested a man believed to have fired the shots.

Three other people in the vehicle were arrested on outstanding warrants.
