Car dealership donates to school corporation

Clifty Creek Elementary School has received $2,000 from a Columbus car dealership as part of a partnership between the district and the business.

Heritage Automotive Sales plans to donate $200 from every vehicle it sells each month to elementary schools in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.

Michael Parsons, principal of Clifty Creek, accepted a check from Heritage Automotive Sales owners Loren and Erica White during the Sept. 11 school board meeting at Clifty Creek Elementary School.

The dealership plans to select a different elementary school each month and announce the total amount raised on its Facebook page, according to the district. Taylorsville Elementary School will be the recipient of Heritage Automotive Sales’ for the month of September.

The money can be used to pay for field trips and other school-related items, said Jim Roberts, BCSC superintendent.
