SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Police in Massachusetts say two children have been hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle.
Investigators say the children were struck Sunday night in Springfield. One is expected to fully recover, but police say the other has more serious injuries. Their ages were not immediately known.
Authorities say the vehicle that hit them left the scene of the crash, but they are not calling it a hit-and-run. Springfield police spokesman Ryan Walsh tells the Springfield Republican it appears the 35-year-old driver was trying to avoid a “crowd of unhappy people.”
The driver has not been charged.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
