NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Two brothers have been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man and the wounding of a 16-year-old boy in Newport News last week.

Police said they found two male gunshot victims Thursday night when they responded to a report of a shooting. They identified the deceased victim as Marvin Gordon of Newport News. The surviving victim remained hospitalized Monday with serious injuries.

Police said they arrested 18-year-old Kamron Drake Kerr Friday. He is being held in the Newport News City Jail on charges of first-degree murder, malicious assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Kerr’s 19-year-old brother, Kyle David Kerr, faces identical charges. Police are still looking for him and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call their crime line.
