PANAMA, Iowa — Authorities say firefighters have found the body of a woman inside a home in western Iowa.

Firetrucks were dispatched around 2:40 a.m. Monday to the Panama residence after a Shelby County sheriff’s deputy spotted and reported a blaze there. Authorities have identified the woman as 87-year-old Norine Mahlberg.

State authorities are investigating the fire’s cause.
