Cynthia L. “Cindy” Karwacki, 62, of Columbus, died Monday, September 25, 2017 at her residence, with her family by her side.

Cindy was born April 19, 1955 in Columbus, to Clyde R. Davis and Roselyn M. Davis.

She was a 1973 graduate of Columbus High School.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Indiana University in 1977. She then received a master’s degree in secondary education from Indiana University in 1982.

Cindy was a retired teacher from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation where she taught for 33 years. She was a member of the Bartholomew Retired Teacher Association and a member of the Indiana State Teacher Association.

Cindy was also a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church where she had volunteered for the Pit Stop program which served lunch to the high school students weekly on Thursdays.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Richard P. “Rick” Karwacki, whom she married August 12, 1989. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra “Sandy” L. (Jon) Finke of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; and nephew, Eric D. (Ann) Finke of Lexington, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Roselyn Davis; an aunt, Barbara M. Critzer; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Critzer, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. Davis.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Myers-Reed Chapel with Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
