NEW YORK — The New York Police Department says a man has been fatally shot in front of his son in a double shooting that injured another man.

NYPD officers responded to a call of shots fired Tuesday night in a Bronx neighborhood. Police say they found 39-year-old Pedro Sanchez Almonte, of the Bronx, unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say they also found a 25-year-old man with a grazing wound to his head.

Almonte was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say he was with his teenage son and the other victim during the shooting.

No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate.
