INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities say a 92-year-old woman and a dog have died following an Indianapolis apartment fire.

The Indianapolis Fire Department says that Lura Icenogle was found dead on Wednesday night at Strawbridge Green Apartments on the city’s southeast side. Her 60-year-old daughter was rescued from the home by firefighters and taken to a hospital to be examined.

The fire department says the women had lived in the apartment for about three years.

Four apartment units were damaged in the fire and more than a dozen people were displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
