KENNER, La. — A Louisiana man accused of starting a pair of car fires by igniting an object and throwing it on his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle has been arrested. Times-Picayune reports 39-year-old Ryan Scott was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of simple arson.

A Kenner police Facebook post says officers and firefighters found two cars that were fully engulfed in flames on Aug. 13. Authorities later determined that Scott had allegedly approached his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle, ignited an object and threw it onto the hood of the car. The flames eventually spread to a second vehicle that was parked nearby.

Scott later told authorities that he had set the car on fire. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
