SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Authorities have released the names of two men who were found slain inside a Syracuse apartment.

Syracuse Police Department officials on Wednesday identified the victims as 31-year-old Arturo Resto Figueroa and 39-year-old Jose Castro.

Police say officers responding to a 911 call around 9:50 p.m. Monday went to an apartment on the city’s west side and found two men with serious injuries. Both were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Police say it appears the men were hit by gunfire. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause of death.

Investigators are looking into how the two men were connected. No arrests have been reported as the investigation continues.
