CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man who is accused of breaking into a plane at a West Virginia airport has been ruled incompetent to stand trial.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports that a ruling Wednesday by Kanawha Circuit Judge Tod Kaufman will send 21-year-old Daylen Wayne to a hospital. The ruling said Brightwell would likely regain competence with medical treatment.

Authorities say Brightwell was charged with breaking and entering on July 7 after employees at Yeager Airport discovered he boarded a plane in a restricted area earlier that day. An airport employee told authorities that Brightwell was shirtless and “unpredictable.”

The judge set another hearing for Dec. 15.
