NORTH VERNON – North Vernon police are investigating the death of a teenager who was found in a home in the 400 block of West Walnut Street.
Police found Lance W. Anderson, 18, of Scottsburg, inside the home Wednesday morning, said Sgt. Andrew Richmond, North Vernon Police Department spokesman.
Police had responded to a call about an unresponsive male at the home, where Anderson was declared dead, he said.
Detectives continue to gather information and the death is considered an open investigation, Richmond said.
An autopsy for Anderson was conducted Thursday morning and the cause and manner of death will be released after the return of toxicology results, the Jennings County Coroner’s office said.
