EVERETT, Wash. — Prosecutors have charged a man with second-degree murder after another man he is accused of kicking in the head died at a hospital.

The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/2xPPAM3 ) that 47-year-old Juan Gonzales was kicked in the head on Monday near Everett Gospel Mission and died on Wednesday.

Forty-one-year-old Joshua David Thompson is accused of kicking Gonzales in the head. Police say Thompson told them that Gonzales “telepathically” asked to be kicked.

The cause of death remains under investigation by the medical examiner, but witnesses told police that Gonzales got up after being kicked and then fell to the ground.

Court papers say Thompson has a history of mental illness.

Both men are believed to have been homeless at the time of the incident.
