VALLEJO, Calif. — Authorities say a pedestrian has died after he was hit by a car as he attempted to cross a street in Vallejo.

Vallejo police said the 60-year-old man was crossing Lewis Brown Drive southbound shortly before 8 p.m. Friday. A 1999 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 32-year-old male was traveling westbound when it struck the pedestrian. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

The driver was not injured. Police say it appeared the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk.

Police are continuing to investigate.
