PAWTUCKET, R.I. — A woman and a child are OK after a vehicle they were in crashed into a Rhode Island restaurant.

Surveillance video shows the woman drive through a fence at the Pawtucket pub on Friday morning. The driver leaves the vehicle and tries to tend to the child before frantically running around the back patio. Heavy smoke filled the area.

Contractor Peter Bailey says he and another man rushed over to help. Bailey jumped in the vehicle and removed the child.

Police say the pub was damaged but deemed structurally sound by the city’s building inspector. WJAR-TV reports that the crash didn’t breach the outer wall of the restaurant.

Authorities say the cause of the crash appears to be operator error. No injuries were reported.
