CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Ten people were displaced and three injured in an early morning apartment fire in Chesapeake.

WAVY-TV reports that the blaze broke out just before 3 a.m. on Saturday in an apartment building on the 1300 block of Ivy Trail. Authorities say the blaze spread to multiple units in the building, and that smoke and heat damaged roughly nine units.

Officials say two people were taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation, and a third person was injured after jumping from a second-story window. All are expected to recover.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
