Columbus to begin fall leaf pickup program

The city plans to begin collecting loose leaves that are left at residential curbs beginning Oct. 16.

Leaves will be collected the same day as trash collection and should be left at the curb by 7 a.m., according to the city. However, the leaves will not be collected if they are in bags.

Materials that are bagged can be brought to the city’s compost site at 720 S. Mapleton St. next door to the Department of Public Works and dumped out.

The leaf collection program will run through Dec. 15.
