ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Authorities say a 34-year-old suspect has been arrested in the death of a St. Joseph woman.

The St. Joseph News-Press reports that the arrest stems from a suspicious death investigation that started early Saturday. The victim was described only as a 31-year-old woman. Buchanan County jail records show that the suspect is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

No formal charges have been filed, but a court date was initially set for Tuesday.
