NEWTOWN, Pa. — A motorcycle mechanic who once lived with a pharmaceutical manager found fatally shot in his Pennsylvania home has been charged with his killing and for staging it to look like a robbery.

Defense attorney S. Philip Steinberg says the suspect, 33-year-old Jennifer Morrissey, is an abused woman and he looks forward to detailing what really happened between her and the victim, 64-year-old Michael McNew.

McNew was found dead Aug. 8, two days after Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub says McNew was shot in his Upper Makefield Township home.

The DA says Morrissey had lived with McNew for months — though she also had a boyfriend — and that she and McNew argued when McNew asked her to move out.

Authorities haven’t otherwise detailed their relationship.

She was charged Friday and remains in the Bucks County jail.
