ERIE, Pa. — A man charged in a deadly shooting after a fight at a Pennsylvania bar has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

The trial for Grover Lyons was scheduled to start Tuesday, but he accepted a plea deal Monday after prosecutors turned over new documents to his lawyers.

Lyons was charged with shooting 28-year-old Darrin Germany Jr. on a street in Erie on Dec. 31. Police say the two had been involved in a fight at a nearby bar.

The Erie Times-News reports that charges including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment were dropped as part of the deal. Lyons’ lawyer called it a fair resolution.

Sentencing is set for Nov. 13.
