Jets move into final

INDIANAPOLIS — Hauser will try once again for its first sectional soccer title after knocking off Morristown 2-0 in Wednesday’s semifinals.

Joe Sweet scored a first-half goal off off an assist from Sam Johnson. Paul Cordero connected on a penalty kick in the second half.

The Jets (4-6-3) outshot the Yellow Jackets 26-8. Kameron Lawson recorded eight saves.

Hauser will play Greenwood Christian Academy in the final at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Jets have played in the sectional finals seven times since the program started in 2004, but have lost all seven.

Monrovia ousts Eagles

MONROVIA — Brown County saw its season come to an end with a 2-1 loss to Monrovia on Wednesday in the semifinals of the Monrovia Sectional.

The Eagles finish the season 11-5-1.

Eagles down Bloomfield

NASHVILLE — Brown County rebounded from a third-set defeat to finish off a 25-16, 25-13, 25-27, 25-21 win against Bloomfield.

The Eagles improved to 15-7.

Hawks sweep TIppecanoe

PLAINFIELD — The Columbus Hawks picked up their second win of the season Tuesday night, a 25-22, 25-10, 25-19 victory against the Tippecanoe Tornados.

Emily Walls pounded 12 kills, Ava Farnsley recorded 10 assists, Lucy Herridge had two blocks, Elizabeth White notched one dig and Kathryn Tuttle served four aces to lead the Hawks (2-11).

McKiah Shearer added eight assists and three aces. AnnMarie Gandy pounded two kills and Cami Hoene served three aces.
