Group sponsors free clinics for legal advice

Legal Aid is sponsoring free clinics through the end of year for low-income residents to receive legal advice.

Clinics will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 23, Nov. 27 and Dec. 18 at the Legal Aid Office in the United Way Center, 1531 13th St., Suite G330 in Columbus.

The clinics utilize local volunteer attorneys who offer free legal consultations to low-income individuals and assistance in accessing justice within the community. Individuals can expect to receive a 10-minute consultation to answer general questions, offer legal information or advice, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Advance registration is not required.

Additional legal aid clinics are being offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 and Jan. 15 at the Jennings County Library, 2375 N. State Highway 3, North Vernon and from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 at MainSource Bank, 1130 E. Tipton St., Seymour.
