JUNEAU, Alaska — Gov. Bill Walker has appointed Leslie Ridle as commissioner of Alaska’s Department of Administration.

Ridle was previously a deputy commissioner in the department. She succeeds Sheldon Fisher, who was recently named commissioner of the Department of Revenue.

The appointments of both Ridle and Fisher are subject to approval by the Legislature.

The Department of Administration provides centralized administrative services to state agencies.

Additionally, the Division of Motor Vehicles, the Public Defender Agency and the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission are among the entities that fall under the department.
