LITCHFIELD, N.H. — Police in a New Hampshire town are investigating lewd messages sent to several underage girls through a social media app.

Police in Litchfield tell WMUR-TV ( the photos are being sent using the app Snapchat. They said they started receiving reports Wednesday of a man exposing himself in pictures. When the app is on a certain setting, users can be contacted by anyone on the app.

Capt. Benjamin Sargent says the screen name of the sender appeared to be someone that may have been known to the juveniles. Police said they’ve identified various usernames under which this person logged in to send the photos.

Police are urging parents to monitor their children’s’ social media use closely, but that the children targeted did the right thing.
